A few kilometers from the Ariège évasion (40 minutes), don't hesitate to visit Calou , the caretaker of the Rulhe refuge (2185m). Calou and his team will welcome you for a stopover during a few days' getaway on the trails and GR crossing the upper Aston valley or for a stopover during a day or half-day hike departing from Pla de Laspeyres right next to the Etang de Laparan .
At the foot of the Rulhe peak (2783m) on the GR10 route. The refuge has 53 beds and also offers meals, drinks, sandwiches, picnics, omelettes, etc.
This refuge is ideal for discovering a family refuge; access on foot is relatively easy.
From the campsite by car. Take the direction “ Les Cabannes ” (6km) cross the village of Aston (8km) and head towards the Pla de Laspeyres (28km) by car you will follow the Riète and Laparan dams.
Then, put on your backpack, and bring your walking poles to reach directly the refuge at 1h45 walk or the major hiking trails: GR10, GR Cross-border, Haute Route Pyrénéenne, Tour des Montagnes d' Ax .
