The paths :
Navigation times are indicative. In spring the speed on the river is around 6 to 8 km/h while in summer it is more like 4 to 5 km/h, durations to which you will add your different stops. Take the time, observe, discover, escape! All departures are from our base in Ornolac Ussat les Bains from 10 a.m. The only prerogative is to arrive before 6 p.m.

The historical journey of ARIEGE EVASION. On the program since 1991! A route that starts on a small lake, then the descent begins. You have to navigate your canoe or kayak through small rapids . Crossing from Tarascon to Ariege then Bompas where Lake Garrabet begins. Mercus is 3 km further. Who says tranquility of a lake also says effort to paddle! But the beauty of the site and the view of the valley reward the effort. Return every half hour from Mercus beach.

Since 1991 at ARIEGE EVASION, we have offered you the same price, so that everyone is free to choose between 1,2 or 3-seater canoe and kayak without having to pay extra .
Are you an odd number? Everyone has the same price, everyone can try kayaking in turns, for example by changing during the descent. Kayaking (solo) is more sporty, and reserved for those over 14 years old.
Double sit-on-top kayak or canoe:
Since our beginnings we have chosen to only offer “sit on top” canoes and kayaks where you will not have the psychosis of having your legs inside. We do not offer skirting kayaks.

A very good campsite, during our stay we only encountered a few people which was a plus. The team is top notch, the view from the riverside pitches is magnificent. The more equipped barbecue area is really nice. We could still canoe in the Ariege at this time, it was a fairly quiet route because the current does everything, we can therefore enjoy the view! Please note the sockets are classic household sockets, may require an adapter if you are equipped with euro sockets. Thanks to the Ariège evasion !!

Great campsite, very clean sanitary area and shower. The setting is great. Friendly employees. Not tried kayaking but they recommend a motorcycle ride, really great, magnificent landscape (recommended to the young … more biker of the welcome)

We have come here twice for a canoe trip, each time a 12km journey. Last year, the escape course which ended at the Mercus base and this year, the adventure course … plus which ended at Bompas. The landscapes are splendid, there is current almost everywhere along the 12km and that changes the situation, it allows you to go at your own pace without getting too tired (except on the escape route where the last 3 km are on the lake , headwind!). This year, the water was really cold so not much swimming during the trip but it's still a great time with the family. The staff is very friendly, it's well organized and there's little wait on the way back. To do if you are in the area!!!

Even really good! At the reception of our rental base in Ornolac, you complete the rental contract, the team offers you waterproof containers for your picnics and belongings. In addition to a river map (our famous water book), our team provides you with information for your journey. You go down freely, no one accompanies you.
Make the ax of your descent on the Ariège
When you arrive, every half hour our shuttles take you back to your starting point, our Ariège Évasion in Ornolac-Ussat-les-Bains. The last shuttle is at 6 p.m., you can take advantage!
Freedom is being able to choose! You go down at your own pace, stop at your leisure to have your meal, take a break, or have a tan session.
