The routes:
The navigation times are indicative. In spring the speed on the river is approximately 6 to 8 km/h while in summer it is more like 4 to 5 km/h, to which you will add your various stops.

All departures are from our base in Ornolac Ussat les Bains starting at 10am.
The only requirement is to arrive before 6 p.m. for the last shuttle.

Accessible to all! easiest route. Get acquainted with your boat on our lake. Then, when you're ready, you're off for a short 3-kilometer trip.

For a full or half day, pack your picnic in the provided containers and float down the 9 km stretch at your own pace . Please note that this is a Class II mountain stream on a V scale. It's a real descent! Allow 2 to 2.5 hours for the trip.

The historic ARIEGE EVASION route. On the program since 1991! A route that starts on a small lake, then the descent begins. You have to steer your canoe or kayak through small rapids . The route passes through Tarascon-sur-Ariège and then Bompas, where Lake Garrabet begins. Mercus is 3 km further on. The tranquility of a lake also means some paddling! But the beauty of the site and the view over the valley reward the effort. Return trips depart every half hour from the beach at Mercus.

Every morning at 10:00, 11:00, and 12:00, we head straight to the heart of the matter at the foot of the Quié cliffs. Is the "Tick-Tock" approaching? Will you be swept away by the excitement? Surprise! No acclimatization period, you just hop in and off you go. Canoeing experience is recommended . It's still level II on a scale of V. Adventure awaits!

This is the complete route of the most beautiful sections of the Ariège . 15 intense kilometers! Pack a picnic. You'll embark on a fast-flowing mountain stream. A series of small rapids to navigate in a double canoe or single kayak. Arrival in Mercus, where our shuttles will take you back to your starting point.

From the beginning, we have chosen to offer only "sit-on-top" canoes and kayaks, where you won't have to worry about your legs being inside. We do not offer spray skirt kayaks.

How does it work with ARIEGE EVASION?
Great! Absolutely fantastic! At the reception of our rental base in Ornolac, you fill out the rental agreement, and the team provides you with waterproof containers for your picnics and belongings. In addition to a river map (our famous water book), our team gives you all the information you need for your trip.
You paddle down at your own pace; no one accompanies you.
Make the most of your descent on the Ariège
Upon your arrival, our shuttles will take you back to your starting point, our Ariège Évasion in Ornolac-Ussat-les-Bains, every half hour. The last shuttle departs at 6:00 PM, so you can relax and enjoy!
Freedom is about having the freedom to choose! You can descend at your own pace, stop whenever you like for a meal, a break, or a sunbathing session.
