The flow of our river is supported by several dams upstream. These large high-altitude lakes provide sufficient water levels all year round for canoeing. This will not prevent you from coming across a rock because the Ariège remains a mountain torrent.
We offer 6 courses for all levels, if it is your first time in a canoe we recommend the Discovery or Whitewater courses. The “Discovery” is specially designed for an initiation on the lake at the start of the ride you will be able to learn how to use the paddle and discover the 3km of the calmest torrent of our river.
The 9km “Eaux vives” takes up the first three kilometers of the Découverte to which you will add 6 km on which the river moves a little more. It is entirely possible to choose at the end of the Discovery if you want to continue or if you want to stop after 3 kilometers.
No worries, we accept doggies free of charge. Check that your dog is comfortable in the water and take him a cloth (towel or other) to stabilize him on the canoe. We rent life jackets for your dog.
We provide you with a waterproof container in which you can take your picnic or snack, your towel and, if you wish, dry clothes, your phone. Don't forget to bring closed shoes such as tennis shoes or water shoes; if you don't have them, you can buy them at our base reception. A cap or hat may also be necessary. Our river is moving you are going to get wet the best outfit is a swimsuit or t-shirt shorts.
We tell you the navigation times for each route but you are the one who manages your time, the first departures are from 10 a.m. and the only requirement is to arrive before 6 p.m. So you organize your descent and your day as you see fit.
You can stop wherever you want throughout your descent for a break, a nap, a picnic…
For 1, 2 or 3, for the 3 person version it is suitable for 2 adults and a child under 10 years old or 1 adult and 2 children.
